Power Plants
Tri-Technic has proven success and experience in navigating through complex, challenging, and schedule-sensitive power plant facility construction, including combustion and steam turbines; hydroelectric and co-generation power plants, including all balance of plant facilities, for utilities, industrial, and government agencies.
We are equally adept at controlling the convergence of multiple construction disciplines. We maintain tight control by closely managing subcontractors, field personnel and staff allowing us to meet our customers’ highest expectations.

High Voltage Transmission Line Construction
As part of Tri-Technic’s strategic focus, we are engaged in construction of high voltage transmission lines, through 500kV.
Our transmission construction capabilities include all facets of overhead line construction including right-of-way clearing; access roads; foundations; steel towers and wood pole construction; conductoring with all the normal street, highway and interstate crossings, distribution and unrelated transmission line crossings, and similar obstacles; OPGW and associated fiber optic work.
We also perform underground transmission work through 230kV including right-of-way access; underground raceway/ductbank systems; concrete encasement; cable pulling, splicing, terminating and testing; fiber optics and related controls; and all related work.
High Voltage Substations, Switchyards & Collector Stations
Tri-Technic’s extensive experience in high voltage substation construction, both in existing energized retrofits and complete greenfield, ground-up construction, demonstrates our ability to work in sensitive and hazardous environments. We have decades of experience and high-level technical knowledge working in substations and switchyards, through 500kV.
We offer complete construction and design services for substations including site preparation and civil/ foundation work, grounding systems, subsurface and exposed raceways; steel structures; high-side bussing systems; all power apparatus; power transformers, and associated controls; control buildings and associated facilities; protective relays and control systems and associated wiring; all balance of plant systems and facilities.
Alternative Energy
Alternative energy is a fast-paced industry that is rapidly evolving as new technologies are developed and implemented. Government mandates to increase green alternatives indicate a clear commitment to reduce our national carbon footprint.
With the possible exception of hydrogen fuel cells, thermal solar and geothermal generation, the predominant alternative energy sources, wind and photo voltaic (PV), are certainly a product of advanced technology inside their patented assemblies, but are simple basic commodities from a construction and installation perspective.
Just about anyone can put the components together and make them work, but doing these on a large scale, on time, on budget, with high levels of safety and quality is quite a different matter. "Large scale" takes a team like Tri-Technic. The more complex alternative energy sources, for example, hydrogen fuel cells, thermal solar and geothermal, are all less complex than combustion turbine or steam turbine plants and thus are well within our considerable expertise.
